WesternMed is a practice management solution which incorporates many years of medical administration experience and input from medical centre staff. It was developed by a practice manager/medical receptionist with experience using many existing practice management systems.

• Patient Demographics

  • Search by surname, firstname or file number if you use a numerical filing system
  • Advanced search screen allows you to search by other methods (e.g. DOB etc)
  • Multiple referrals can be logged (full referral history and ability for referrals for each practitioner for multi-specialist sites who may see the same patient).
  • Workers Compensation/Insurance details viewable on this screen
  • Patient alerts which flash up and also Patient notes which appear at the bottom of the screen allowing lengthy text notes to be recorded to the patients file.
  • Patient and Payer Balance shows on this screen.
  • Multiple payer capabilities and changing payer easily done in billing screen if not changed in patient demographic screen.

  
  

• Appointment Diary

  • Flexible easy to use diary that allows you to generate a schedule but you can also book one of appointments or lists easily.
  • Unavailable slots blank out easily and change colour (grey) to show easily that a doctor is not available.
  • Setup schedule according to types of appointments easily (e.g. 9am NP slot, 10am Post op slot and 10.15am F/up slot). Predefine the types when setting up the schedule so mistakes can not happen or set the appointment type at the time of booking for clinics which are flexible about appointment types.
  • Overbooking easily done (allowing multiple bookings for the one slot – not just double booking – triple booking or more if you like).
  • Different views allowing you to view the individual doctors for the whole week or individual doctors (or multiple doctors) for the day.
  • Doctor's day notes for notes for doctors for after hours meetings or reminders.

  
  

• Theatre List

  • Setup up the types of procedures you do and colour code them (e.g. Minor – green Major – red) or set up your own.
  • Book your procedure – allocate item numbers and prepare a quotation easily.
  • Reorder list easily – move the last person to be first position with simple clicks – no need to delete or cut and paste.
  • Add additional slots easily or delete other slots if major case and no more to be added.
  • Setup by order number alone or by times
  • Item numbers print on the theatre list
  • Print out and fax to your theatre or print to PDF and email to the theatre. No need for retyping it in word or cutting and pasting.

  • Easy to use billing system.
  • Multiple procedure calculations and assisting doctor calculations make billing very easy.
  • Use quotations to generate into invoices easily
  • Multiple pay status available so you can have all of your private health cover rates setup and be able to select them easily without looking at each individual fee booklet.
  • Quotations and Rebates - Quotations allow you to use multiple procedure calculations and assisting doctor calculations to generate a quotation. You can then select which pay status they will receive their rebate from and calculate an estimate of patient gap expenses at a click of a few buttons. The rebate calculation will follow all of the multiple procedure and assisting doctor rules applied to generate the correct rebate amounts and correct Patient Gap Estimate.

  • Setup recall codes for any reason to recall the patient
  • Setup recall template letters using Microsoft Word
  • Log recalls for patients easily in the patient screen.
  • View all recalls due in a search screen. Also, able to view any unresponded recalls easily.

  • Setup up complications and results which can be doctor defined
  • Staff can log the surgical audit whilst billing

  A medical spell checker that can be linked into Microsoft Word™ to check your medical reports for spelling errors.

• Pathology Downloads and pit email exporter

  Pit pathology downloads and pit report exporter (using Microsoft Word as the word processor) then can be sent via email. This product can be linked to your current practice management software and is already built into W esternMed Practice Management Software. You can send and receive reports electronically.
